Pre-2007
The Operational Blueprint
Before Gemstone Logistics was founded, our leadership was already solving some of Canada’s most complex workforce mobility challenges. Managing large-scale aviation, rotation, and site logistics for major oil sands projects, we safely moved thousands of workers in and out of remote environments. In the process, we developed disciplined operational models, rotation systems, and flight coordination frameworks that proved one thing: Experience came first. The company followed.
These early systems became the foundation of everything Gemstone would later build.
2007
Founding: From Proven Model to Purpose Built Company
Gemstone Logistics was founded on a simple belief: workforce mobility could be smarter, safer, and more integrated. Built on real-world field experience—not theory—we launched to support clients operating in some of the most remote and demanding environments in North America. In the early years, our focus was precision execution of charter and site aviation coordination, workforce rotation planning, and large-scale logistics management. We didn’t just management movement, we managed complexity.
2007-2012
From Process to Platform
As projects expanded, complexity increased. Manual coordination and spreadsheets could no longer keep pace with the scale and risk of workforce movements. What began as disciplined operational processes evolved into structured systems—and those systems demanded technology. The need for integrated visibility across aviation, scheduling, and accommodations became clear. This realization laid the groundwork for our first software platform.
2013
CIRYS: A Turning Point
The launch of CIRYS transformed workforce logistics by giving clients real-time visibility and control across charter aviation, workforce rotations, camp scheduling, and operational reporting—all within a single system. This marked a fundamental shift for Gemstone, evolving our role from service provider to technology partner and redefining how large-scale workforce operations were managed.

Gemstone Travel: Completing the Journey
Workforce mobility does not begin at the charter gate. With the creation of Gemstone Travel, we extended our logistics expertise beyond site aviation to include commercial travel, ensuring workforce movement was fully connected from home to site and back again. Combining technology with dedicated service teams, we enabled companies to move their people anywhere in the world through a single, coordinated mobility program.

CampWare Acquisition: Strengthening the Core
Welcoming Orissa Software expanded our technical capability and accelerated product innovation. Through this acquisition, CampWare became part of the Gemstone ecosystem—strengthening our development foundation and enabling us to build more scalable, enterprise‑grade systems. CampWare significantly expanded our workforce accommodation management capabilities and allowed us to move faster as our platform and client ecosystem grew.

CampWare Moves to the Cloud
As operations grew and expectations evolved, modernization became essential. Migrating CampWare to the cloud delivered greater reliability, improved security, remote accessibility, and enterprise‑level scalability—allowing clients to manage accommodations, lodges, and camps from anywhere. This milestone marked a new chapter for one of our foundational offerings and laid the groundwork for full platform unification.
